In the tattered remains of the once thriving country of Cirai, Sy navigates his world knowing every turn could be face-to-face with a savage beast, or worse, a corrupt guard after curfew.

He longs for a better life. A way to escape the deadly creatures who lurk in the shadows but a lowly orphan from the Hovels Is a nobody.

Until he receives a request to meet with the Commander.

Sy learns that the ancient magic of The Elders has faltered, and the result is the brutal life they now know.

Along with his friends, Sy must journey across Cirai. Their first stop: TheWaverleyMountains.

Sure, they look beautiful in the distance, but missing travellers, mysterious earthquakes and rumours of a rampaging giant is far from ideal.

Can a few teenagers from the Hovels save the country from turmoil? Return peace? Bring back a sense of normalcy? Maybe.

The only thing is, they don't exactly know what they're looking for.
