Serial Killers: Compulsion to Kill

The judge who led the case against Britain's most prolific serial killer, Dr Harold Shipman, speculated that his horrific crimes were intrinsically linked to his addictive personality. According to Dame Janet Smith, it is possible that drug-addict Shipman had such a morbid compulsion to kill  that he simply could not stop. Shipman is not alone, however.
