Short Cruises

Complete and unabridged, with 57 full-page plates by Edvard Munch, Richard Parkes Bonington and John Constable. Short sea-coast stories by the master of the form - night-watchmen, longshore swindles, and men outwitted by their own cleverness. Jacobs is remembered for one horror story, The Monkey's Paw, and spent the rest of his life writing comedy about the Thames-side wharves. This edition is bound with a gallery of 57 plates of painting, 1820–1918, among them Turner, Munch and John Crome.
