Sord in Prosperity - Hope Beyond the Apocalypse

Sord attends high school in Prosperity, the domed nation-state arising from the ashes of a second Great Debacle that left humanity clinging to a tenuous edge. Prosperity is the last gasp at establishing a long-lived society based on principles of compassion and kindness.
 

Sheltered from the harsh conditions and violent encampments beyond the dome's safety, Sord yearns to experience the world as previous generations did, before the Debacles exhausted a tired Earth. To help him understand those times, Sord's mother gives him an ancestor's diary. Sord finds it tedious, but he soon recognizes parallels with his own life.
 

And just like his ancestor, trouble seems to trail the poor guy. Despite his recent near-death accident, he and his ebullient new girlfriend embark on another edgy adventure, hoping to uncover the truth behind his physicist father's mysterious disappearance. Will their quest lead them into even greater danger?
