The Adventures of Stickman - Phonics 3 (Y‪)‬

The Adventures of Stickman is a series of books that can be used at school or at home. They cover all the letters and sounds across Phase 3, including tricky words within Phase 2 and 3. They are comics that reinforce the phonics at school with each short story focusing on a single sound. They are written using only words that a child is capable of decoding within phase 2 and 3, enabling young readers to build their confidence.


All the books follow a similar story line where the main character (Stickman) is always helping someone in need (the Wizard, King Jack, Zack the farmer, Mona the chef and others). All books were trialled in classes in UK, and both, children and teachers enjoyed the simple layout without overstimulating illustrations, allowing children to concentrate on decoding the words.


Designed for reluctant readers in mind, The Adventures of Stickman helps both, parents and children to practise the phonics taught at school in a very easy and accessible way.
