The Daughter of the Commandant

This book is a love story of a 17-year-old Russian Pyotr Grinyov, who is sent into military service during the Pugachev Rebellion of the 1770s. His service does not go as planned, especially after he meets Masha Mironov and falls in love. The passionate Pyotr risks duels and the scorn of father Mironov to win her love in return.
