The Life Cycle of a Chick

The creation of this book is unique; second and seventh graders spent six weeks sharing the experience of hatching chicken eggs and raising chicks. This multitouch book is a result of that learning partnership.


The stories in this book were written by a second grade student as he or she learned about the life cycle of a chicken: the process of the egg, hatching, becoming a chick, and becoming a hen. Seventh grade science students took their stories and created this multitouch book by enhancing it with an understanding of identity, heredity, and DNA. 

Each chapter of this book is one of their stories. Enjoy.
