Azima Ratcliffe is a young widow living in a small Australian country town. She is trying to earn a living as a tarot card reader. When a strange phone call comes in from a crying child, it sends her on a mission for answers after she learns the child has been dead for 50 years As the mystery deepens, she discovers a shocking secret, one which has been a festering wound for one of the well-connected oldest families of the district. But when the tarot cards let her down she becomes concerned, and she needs all her inner strength to stay focussed and safe. Being a loner, her instincts urge her to back away, but she is driven on, getting drawn deeper into a whirling vortex of murder, lies, emotions and intimidation. Who can she turn to?
