You can't trust a vampire—or so everyone keeps saying. But when the vampire duchess of LA calls for an arbitration, Elizabeth can't help feeling she's found a kindred spirit. One who will be a very powerful ally—if Elizabeth can just solve the pesky little problem of saving her (second) life.
 

Something is rotten in the vampire courts of California, and Elizabeth must find out who's behind it to save her new friend, avert a vampire-wizard war, and avoid the vampire king's wrath, even as her own alliances and friendships fall apart in front of her eyes.
 

If it even ends up mattering. They might all be dead long before that, anyway…
