Descripción editorial
Slavers, hurricanes, yellow fever and prize money, logged by a young officer on the Jamaica station during the Napoleonic wars. Michael Scott had lived there himself as a merchant and wrote it anonymously for Blackwood's; Coleridge admired it and nobody knew who the author was until he died. This edition adds a gallery of 23 plates after Stanfield, Heard, Collins and van der Meiren, among others, alongside 37 illustrations restored and coloured for the text.
