Winter Surprise

Lieutenant Dylan Chaney thought being a SEAL was the hardest thing he’d ever done until he became a single father.



After returning from an extended overseas mission, he discovered the woman he’d been dating before he left had given birth to their son then suddenly died. Dylan didn’t know anything about babies. They frightened him more than terrorists. At least he knew what to do with bad guys.



Fortunately, he had a wonderful support system of Ian’s grandparents. But when they decided to second honeymoon in Mexico at Christmastime, and his own parents were stuck in a Midwest snowstorm, Dylan was alone with a cranky, sick infant. After exhausting Internet searches in trying everything he knew how to do, he knew it was time to ask for help.

Lieutenant Eve Sanders had just achieved her designation as a physician assistant and being lowest on the seniority board, she was given holiday duty at the SEAL clinic. She didn’t mind, though. With no real friends at her new duty station, she might as well work, filling the lonely hours.



An eight-month-old infant was the last thing Eve expected at closing time on December twenty third. She instantly recognized the upset baby since she’d helped deliver him.



Two strangers in the night connected by a hurting baby, both alone at the holidays. Does anything become of this chance encounter?
