The original scrapbook of Charlie Roberts, Manchester United’s first great captain, founder of the Professional Footballers’ Association, with a lasting influence on the game of football, both in its play, its economics and structure. 


Charlie was described as the greatest player who ever lived,  and his activism meant that the FA tried to marginalise him and his influence.  His legacy, the Professional Footballers’ Association continues to be the most successful and powerful sports trade union ever created.
