Ernest Belfort Bax (23 July 1854 – 26 Nov 1926) was an English journalist, philosopher and historian. He was educated privately and influenced by Lewes, Lecky, Bain, Spencer and others.  He studied philosophy in Germany, beginning with Kant and Hegel. Notable philosophical works by Bax are The Problem of Reality (1892), (1907), Problems of Men, Mind and Morals (1912), and more. He also published some works on history and culture, along with his contributions to philosophy and man’s rights.
