Love Eternal

Two people who believe they have known each other before are kept apart by a father with debts and a man with money, and reincarnation is treated in this book as a fact rather than a fancy. Haggard went to South Africa at nineteen and helped raise the Union Jack over the Transvaal; he published this in 1918, a quarter of a century after losing his only son, and the belief in it is his own, which makes it a very odd novel to read.
