The Snow Song

Perched on a mountain in a land of ancient forests is a village, rife with secrets.

Cut off from the outside world it is run by the elders, men to whom tradition is all, who chain their women with superstition.

Edith lives alone with her alcoholic father who is forcing her to marry the cruel village butcher. But she is in love with beguiling shepherd Demetrius, who left but swore to return to her.

As the falling snow isolates the village, with no sign of her beloved, Edith loses her power of speech. Yet this enchantment promises far-reaching consequences, as Edith outgrows the person that the elders expect her to be, nothing for the village will be the same again.
