The Whites and the Blues

The second book in the Sainte Hermine Trilogy, also known as the Napoleon Romances, "The Whites and the Blues" deals with the tensions between the royalist and republican factions in France during Napoleon's rise to power. Although chronologically the first in the series, the book works better as a prequel to "The Companions of Jehu". 


The work is full of history that will help you understand France, the French people and their wars, explained in the way only Dumas can do, and has done in masterpieces such as The Three Musketeers and The Count of Monte-Cristo.
