This five-act play by seventeenth-century English playwrights Francis Beaumont and John Fletcher is a comedy in which the rightful heir to the British throne is deposed and then elected as king of the beggars. This play was first published in 1647, and dramatist Philip Massinger may have contributed to its writing.
