The much-anticipated sequel to Boy, Everywhere and follows on from my World Book Day title Boot It!, Kicked Out is a story about rejection, finding your self-worth, friendship, family, loyalty and belonging.

Ali’s just a regular Year Eight kid, looking forward to the best summer ever with his boys, Sami and Mark. Mark’s got a new pool and they’re gonna hang out in it and play football every day …

But the universe has other ideas, and it’s not long before their plans are in tatters. Ali and Sami find themselves kicked out of Mark’s house and their friend Aadam, already threatened with deportation, is accused of theft.

And just when Ali thought things couldn’t get worse, his dad moves back into town.
