Utgivarens beskrivning
This is Austen's first published novel, from 1851, which she wrote under the pseudonym "A Lady". The story is about Elinor and Marianne, two daughters of Mr. Dashwood by his second wife. They have a younger sister, Margaret, and an older half-brother named John. When their father dies, the family estate passes to John, and the Dashwood women are left in reduced circumstances.
The novel follows the Dashwood sisters to their new home, a cottage on a distant relative's property, where they experience both romance and heartbreak. The contrast between the sister's characters is eventually resolved as they each find love and lasting happiness. Through the events in the novel, Elinor and Marianne encounter the sense and sensibility of life and love.

Not great
Buy a more expensive version. At first I thought this one was read by a robot, because the narration and Elinor's voice are so mechanical it seems like it. Other characters do get 'voices' however, which saves it a little.
That said, the editing is poor. There are a lot of repeated lines, and the reader (understandably!) chokes once and has to start over, which ought to have been edited out.
Errors in editing: a portion of chapter 7 in volume 3 is missing. One scene ends abruptly with Elinor walking up a stair, and then suddenly she is alone in a room with an unidentified man. To a new reader (who doesn't know this is Willoughby) it takes minutes before his identity is revealed. It was very frustrating.
I'd recommend getting another version if you can afford it. Otherwise this one is ok, as in, better than nothing.
