The bestselling 8th novel in the Women’s Murder Club series
A MASSACRE OF ELITES
A rock star, a fashion designer, a software tycoon and a millionaire heiress. All glamorous, stunningly attractive, and incredibly rich. All murdered. All of them Detective Lindsay Boxer's problem.
A FORGOTTEN MURDER
But the frantic media attention distracts from the murder of a local street hero. Only intrepid reporter Cindy Thomas is on the case. The victim was celebrated across the city for his selfless work with the homeless. Who would want to kill him? Could the down-and-out Samaritan have been hiding a dark secret?
A TICKING CLOCK
The cases demand the attention of the whole Women's Murder Club. Roping in tough-as-nails attorney Yuki and compassionate medical examiner Claire, Lindsay and Cindy race to solve the cases before the killer strikes again – but tensions are running high, and the strain threatens to tear the Women’s Murder Club apart for good.
Mystery, mayhem and murder most foul abound in this eighth entry to Patterson's enduring mystery series. The four members of the Women's Murder Club are pulled into the investigation of three deaths: a homeless man called Bag Man Jesus, whose face has been mutilated, and a glamorous couple from San Francisco's upper elite, who are just as dead as Bag Man but whose bodies look untouched. With its shifting points of view and multiple characters, this audio book would be a daunting task for any narrator, but Carolyn McCormick is up for the challenge. The reader for several earlier Women's Murder Club novels, she renders the characters with ease. Although her vocal tone may verge on strident at times, her earnest delivery keeps the story moving briskly. A Little, Brown hardcover (Reviews, May 11).
