Anskar (also Ansgar) (801 – 865 A.D.) was a saint born in Bremen, Germany, known as the “Apostle of the North”.   He helped spread Christianity throughout Denmark and Sweden.


Anskar the Apostle of the North is a translation of the story of Anskar’s life written by his friend Bishop Rimbert.
