Listeners can almost envision a twinkle in Dale's eye as he delivers the lines of Fogg's traveling companion and man-servant Passepartout in an entertaining, though not over-the-top, French accent. Dale's vibrant, never-hurried reading is pleasantly punctuated by background music of the era at chapter breaks. A bonus afterword notes that this new edition pays homage to Listening Library's very first recording in 1955, of this same book. The added material also mentions the historical and social context of Verne's writings about other cultures, the tone of which would be considered insensitive or offensive by many people today. Ages 8-up.

Spännande och bara underbar
Jag läste denna bok som ett skolprojekt där vi fick välja bok själv, och jag kan säga att denna bok verkligen inte gjorde mig besviken.
Boken är mycket bra skriven och håller läsarhumöret uppe nästan hela tiden. Det märks att boken är lite äldre i språket, man får snabbt inblickar i hur världen ser ut i alla detaljer som beskrivs i boken, de känns nästan som man själv är med i resan.
Rekommenderar stort denna bok till alla som vill ha en bra spännande bok som även är ganska lärorik.

I’ve experienced this journey many times eversince being in my teens. Still as thrilling and so well written that I feel I’m a member of mr Foggs party, over oceans and continents, through jungles, over the plaines and visiting some of the big cities of the time!
