A devoted single mom, used to doing everything on her own, Maggie Bowman is trying to do All. The. Things. Somehow, the more she does, the more she feels like she's failing. With the clock ticking down to the start of the school year, Maggie's first priority is staying on top of renovations on her fixer-upper in order to provide a stable home for her daughter.

Needing to get out of her own head for a while as well as to prove to her friends that she's capable of dressing to impress, Maggie goes out of her way to wear the most revealing dress she owns…only to regret it the moment she reaches the door of York's Landing, the local bar where everyone (except, it seems, for Maggie) hangs out.

Finally satisfied with his life just as it is, local restaurant owner, Sean York, is completely caught off guard by the sweet woman who walks into his bar for the first time. Fidgeting in her barstool and pulling at the deep neckline of her dress to cover herself, she looks like she'd rather be anywhere else while she waits for her friends.

The connection is brief, but it's there. Sean can't help but be drawn to Maggie's gentle vulnerability. And Maggie can't help but be drawn to Sean's easygoing nature – not to mention the way he looks in those jeans.

When Sean and Maggie meet up again, they each begin to wonder, "What if...?"

But as one thing after another goes wrong in Maggie's life, will she be able to keep her attention pulled in so many directions or will something finally have to give?
