Birds, Words, Creatures and Features reflects upon Ade Hall’s ventures into Ma Nature’s domain, camera in tow, with associated trip narratives, species family overviews and photographic tips and tricks that Ade has learned along the way on 4 continents.

The book is written based on personal experience and especially for a combined audience. Firstly there are those that love to see nature from other parts of the world, albeit they have yet to, or perhaps may never be able to, visit such places themselves. Secondly, select families of birds have been photographed at length, with narrative describing not merely the experience of ‘being there’ but also the traits and facts about these creatures. Thirdly, there are strategies for taking improved photographs explained - these may be to do with getting closer to the natural subject, or strategies for taking improved photographs of subjects… with some tips, tricks and ‘mantras’ to help you take better nature photographs too. Lastly, there’s a section that relates to bird photography trips over the recent 1 ½ years, encompassing North America, Europe, South East Asia, Asian and Australasian regions.


So if you have a love of nature and birds in particular, a love of nature photography and want to improve your results, or merely you enjoy nature and a good story, then Birds, Words, Creatures and Features will not disappoint.


The author, Ade Hall, is donating part of the proceeds from this Book to the Nature Society of Singapore, to support the funding of research and conservation efforts, coupled with education of young and old alike as to ‘all things SIngapore and natural’.
