Raphael has been confined to his bed of suffering for over thirty years. With hundreds of other crippled and maimed hopefuls, he lies by the Pool of Bethesda, waiting for an angel to stir the water and bring healing to the lucky person who reaches the pool first. But he starts to question whether his hopes and beliefs are in keeping with the God of the Scriptures.
Then one day, a stranger arrives and gives him an incredible command; Rise, take up thy bed and walk.
A short story based on the healing at the Pool of Bethesda in John chapter 5, told in a new and original way.
