This is the first book in a series of “Let’s Read With Rosie Rabbit” phonic reading books, created to appeal to young minds and inspire a love of reading.
“Rosie Rabbit & Her Cat” is a unique multimedia eBook designed to increase engagement and boost interest in learning phonics and create positive momentum for continuing on the build words in preparation for reading.
The book introduces budding readers to the sounds of the English alphabet. It shows how to blend sounds of letters and read ‘short a’ vowel words together with sight words that are all included in the book. Now equipped with the necessary know-how, it becomes fun to move on to the reading pages and try to sound out and read familiar words. Readers can also see and hear the story in an animated video which is included on each reading page.

Loving this new phonic reading interactive eBook by Cherie Arnegard. I really like the way a child can choose to hear sounds of the phonetic alphabet, and learn how to blend the sounds to make words. They can also choose to sound out the short a vowel words that are included in the reading pages and become familiar with the other sight words needed to read the book. Self correction is built into the book, and It is possible to click on each word and here how it sounds at any time. There are even links to videos on YouTube that teach even more detail about the sounds of English, long and short vowels, matching letter sounds with objects and how to write the letters of the alphabet!
When familiar with the sounds and words that are included in the book, it’s a piece of cake to move on to the reading pages which are made up of now familiar words from earlier on in the book. Each reading page includes reading text and an animated video underneath that reads the text for each page whilst it is being animated.
All of this makes it possible for a young learner to enjoy developing new reading skills either together with an adult or all by themselves.
A wonderful use of appealing illustrations and multimedia to inspire the senses and motivate learning.
