“Herland” by Charlotte Perkins Gilman is a highly successful utopian novel. However, when it was first published, it was not given so much attention. It was first published as a serial in 1915. The novel was first published in a book form only in the year 1979.
The novel depicts a society that is completely isolated, composed of entirely of women. The women in that society reproduce through asexual reproduction, parthenogenesis.
