when two seemingly very different people fall in love
I thought that this book was a great read!
Michael Wainwright and Camellia Grenville are on the surface extremely different, Wainwright is outgoing and loves pleasure of all kinds, and in his aim to please and be kind he often speaks without thought. Camellia is discreet and proper, not so much out of inclination or that she's naturally like that, but mostly because her sisters are such strong characters that she feels compelled to counteract them through her behavior.
Until Mrs Grenville announces that Camellia is to marry a man she has never even spoken to. This prompts Camellia to attend London's most scandalous masquerade where she meets the mysterious Lord X whom she is instantly attracted to.
Meanwhile, in a show of sisterly loyalty Camellia outwardly detests The Lord of Pleasure, due to his influencing several ladies to withdraw their donations to a school for girls from unfortunate circumstances. Lord Wainwright on the other hand becomes more and more intrigued by the straightforward Miss Grenville..
