The first chapter is an excellent primer on choosing the gear (DAW, audio interface, MIDI controller, and mixer) every project studio requires. In Chapters 2 and 3 you’ll discover all about monitoring, understanding which types of headphones and monitors to use, and crucially, how to set up an ideal listening position and calibrate your speakers. The concluding two chapters explore the recording process in depth. Mike presents the science and practical uses of the different microphone types, so you’ll know exactly which mic to choose for the recording job, and why. You’ll also learn hands-on mic recording techniques for vocals, guitars and drums, supported by detailed diagrams, photographs and videos.

Good book
Well done. A good book with a well chosen content to give the reader a nice start to get going.
It says 118 pages, but that's with the default font size which is turned up quite much. When I use it, I use the smallest size which makes it 66 pages. I think it's a bit short. It could well be a bit more thorough.
I think you guys at MPV could make a more professional book in the same manner as this, and actually compete with the likes of "Sound And Recording" and "Modern Recording Techniques". Don't You? ;)
Overall, a good book!
Ok for the very beginner
It is very basic and about 150 pages on a iPhone screen.
