My Child Has an Eligibility Label of Autism; Now What?‪!‬

Your child was found eligible for special education services, but now you are drowning in the alphabet soup of acronyms frequently served up in team meetings? This publication was created to help parents and educators understand the verbiage and acronyms that comprise the program elements integral to supporting students’ individualized education.  This information and resources will assist you and your child as your venture into special education.  Additionally, this can be a reference for you to refer back to as you approach specific dates and meetings.  As an educator, I want my families to feel confident and knowledgeable as we, as a team, approach how to create and implement an effective, individualized program of education.  Let’s work together to empower these children not only for this upcoming school year but for their lives as individuals with autism!
