Nobody By Louis Joseph Vance Louis Joseph Vance (1879-1933) was an American novelist, born in Washington, D. C., and educated in the preparatory department of the Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute. He wrote short stories and verse after 1901, then composed many popular novels. His character "Michael Lanyard," also known as "The Lone Wolf," was featured in eight books and 24 films between 1917 and 1949, and also appeared in radio and television series. His works The Brass Bowl (1907), The Black Bag (1908), The Bronze Bell (1909), The Fortune Hunter (1910), No Man's Land (1910), The Pool of Flame (1910), Cynthia of the Minute (1911), The False Faces (1918), The Dark Mirror (1920), Red Masquerade (1921), and Alias the Lone Wolf (1921).
