On Rabbit Trails and Bear Hunts

Dejected, discouraged and depressed by pressures of the pastorate, a young pastor leaves ministry and seeks comfort in a long dreamed of bear hunting trip. He soon finds himself stranded and alone, with a major snowstorm moving in and his only hope for survival is the kindness of an unsociable hermit named Judson. Our young preacher loves Jesus, but the wounds he has received by some in the Church have made him question how involved he wants to be in a local body. Judson has never heard of either Jesus or the church. Who benefits the most by this meeting of two very different worlds is the story which unfolds in On Rabbit Trails and Bear Hunts. Unbelievable but (mostly) true stories of church life, realities of serving Jesus while in "secular employment" and challenges to mediocre Christianity combine to ask penetrating questions of faithfulness to a cause and personal effectiveness. What begins as a bear hunt blossoms into a journey to find peace with the Church while learning to serve God.
