Introduction Adhesive dentistry has progressed tremendously in the last decade. The provision of adhesive composite resin (CR) restorations to treat discoloured, malformed, carious, traumatised teeth is becoming more common. The aim of research in this field has been to develop durable and reliable adhesion between restorative materials and tooth structure [Duke and Lindemuth, 1990].
