The 2013 St. Louis Cardinals in Pictures

This book showcases photographs by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch Photo Dept. illustrating key moments and scenes from the 2013 St. Louis Cardinals' season.



The St. Louis Cardinals opened the season with great expectations.  They returned the core group of players who came one game short of a World Series appearance the previous year and had a nationally recognized farm system ready to provide reinforcements.  


The passing of Cardinals' hall of famer Stan Musial before the season served as a reminder for all who wore the Birds on the Bat what it means to be a Cardinal.


The regular season tested the team with injuries to key players but they entered the postseason tied for the best record in the major leagues.  


Memorable performances fueled the Cardinals' postseason run with a walk-off victory in the 13th, a rookie pitcher's coming-out party and an interference call at third base.
