The Devil's Rudder

This book was created as a supplement to the podcast short story of the same title “THE DEVIL'S RUDDER”, found on the Clear Tales podcast. The story, podcast and ebook are crafted specifically for older individuals who experience mild cognitive decline, such as mild to moderate dementia.

The purpose of this publication is to fully immerse and engage the audience, listeners with mild to moderate dementia, in the narrated story. Allowing them to actively follow along the podcast narration with the ebook. To enhance the experience, it has been intentionally published in larger print and includes illustrations for each chapter specifically for the audiobook listener's enjoyment and engagement.

"The Devil's Rudder" is adapted from the short story by Joseph Conrad, The Brute. This story takes place in an 1800's seaboard tavern, where seaman discuss the beginning a murderous merchant ship named The Devil's Rudder. The tales are told around a tavern hearth fire on a cold raining night.
