The Earl of Westbrook, Gideon Andrew Jamieson would find the most unsuitable woman to be his bride. Once his parents, The Duke and Duchess of Trevor saw their future daughter-in-law they would demand he break the engagement and thereby leave him alone about marriage.

Lady Mercy Shefford didn’t make a deal with the devil. . .instead she made her deal with The Earl of Persuasion, as he was notoriously known among the ton. She would help him and in return he would help her. Once their deal was finished she would head back to America.
