Marie Corelli (1 May 1855 – 21 Apr 1924) was a British writer. Until World War I her publications were extremely popular. Despite the fact, that her writings were regarded as the favorite of the multitude, Corelli’s works sold more copies that most of popular authors of that time call together, including Arthur Conan Doyle, Herbert Well and Rudyard Kipling.
