A work dedicated to young readers, the book provides a narrative account of Siam, Java, Cochin China, Cambodia, and other countries in the Malay Archipelago as seen through the eyes of two fictitious young travellers, Frank and Fred. It describes the cities, temples, people, manners and customs of these countries, together with extensive notes on matters of general interest to young readers, such as details of progress of naval architecture, submarine operations and the adventures of Marco Polo.
