Publisher Description

These disreputable truands' night-time assault on the cathedral is one of the most spectacular set-pieces of Romantic literature. Hugo vividly depicts medieval Paris, where all life is dominated by the massive cathedral.

Another great book!

I had been deceived by Disney for so many years! This original work bears no semblance to the cartoon.

Another great novel by Hugo. This novel brought me into medieval Paris. The mob, the king, the people are all believable. The story between the beautiful and naïve La Esmeralda, the foolish poet Gringoire, the handsome but heartless Phoebus, the loyal but ugly Quasimodo, and the tragic Archdeacon are all memorable for their tragic love.
