The second volume of a revised two volume work, it describes Sir Henry Keppel's encounters and suppression of pirates in Borneo, his observations of the land and people, Malays and various dyak tribes, their charcteristics, daily lives, customs and ceremonies, produce and trade. There are also accounts of meetings and negotiations with the Rajah and Sultan to resolve conflicts. The last third of the book comprises among others, his concluding observations to the 1st edition, postscript to the 2nd edition and 8 appendices, one of which is the Treaty between England and the Netherlands regarding territory and commerce in the East Indies signed on 17 March 1824.
