Dreiser is known primarily as a fiction writer and essayist, but he also completed a number of dramatic works. This volume collects together seven of them. Today, Dreiser's plays are very rarely produced, but they still display characteristic features of his style and passions. The volume includes "The Girl in the Coffin," "The Blue Sphere," "Laughing Gas," "In the Dark," "The Light in the Window," "The Spring Recital" and "'Old Ragpicker'."
