Publisher Description

The die casting die is the heart of the die casting machine. Without the die, all the complex machinery and expertise needed for successful casting is wasted. This publication addresses the importance of reliable clamping. There are a number of things that can go wrong if the die is not clamped safely and reliably. Improper clamping will ultimately generate a tremendous amount of waste.

This publication is organized into two sections. The first is focused on the pieces that are required for safe and reliable clamping. These include the clamp components and the tools used for tightening the clamps. Also, some basics on lifting and transporting dies will be covered. In the second section, the basics of clamping will be covered. This section will tackle the location and number of clamps required, and recommended maximum torque on the clamp bolts.
