The book describes engineering and system problems such as space vehicle trajectory, motor car suspensions, speed boat acceleration, quality control in manufacturing, forces acting upon airplanes and television systems, each relating to a different branch of mathematics. An example mathematics problem solution is then included for each scenario. 

The book has 240 pages, and includes over 60 pictures and graphs. An 18 page glossary of engineering and mathematics terms is included. 


The book is aimed primarily at pre GCSE students at the stage of deciding which subjects to take at A-Level, and also teachers of STEM subjects. A-Level students of mathematics and physics may also find the book helpful in revealing real life applications of mathematics that could encourage them to aspire to become graduate engineers. Parents of pupils deciding which subjects to study at A-Level will also find the book informative and readable
