Dr. Here is My Question

The Bible has proved Itself, to me, to be the infallible Word of God. In the original manuscripts and as it has been correctly copied and translated, it is accurate in matters of doctrine, science and history, perfect in morals, the very Word of God. One may safely rely on every promise and should earnestly seek to obey every command and joyfully surrender to every hint of the will of God revealed in the Bible. Early I came to believe and love the Bible. My ministry became more and more centered on the Bible. This poor preacher has been taught by the Spirit to love the Word of God with a holy passion. To be true to this Word of God I have lost friends, have offended dignitaries; I have sought to delight in this blessed Book. I know that: “The judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.”—Ps. 19:9-11. In 1926 on a daily half-hour radio broadcast, God led me to begin to answer Bible questions. Then in 1929 some fundamentalist leaders asked me to prepare lessons through the whole Bible for Sunday School teachers. It took five years with a lesson each week, sent out to some five hundred correspondent students, preparing comments and explanations on every chapter in the Bible and on every principal verse. The weekly SWORD OF THE LORD began on September 28, 1934, and through this Christian magazine for forty-three years, I have answered the Bible questions of readers, including, many years, some twenty thousand ministers and missionaries. They have been so blessed of God that now in answer to many inquiries, this book has been prepared. Out of thousands published, my secretary and assistant, Miss Viola Walden, and her helpers have selected the 294 questions and answers in this book. I have checked and edited them. May the Holy Spirit breathe upon the hearts of all who read, that the Scriptures explained simply and literally, comparing Scripture with Scripture, may bring light, blessing, leadership, and wisdom to all who read.
