Floating in the Water

Art lesson focused on Matisse and his paper cuts with a special focus on “The Thousand and One Nights”.  On day one we learned that Matisse made books with some of his paper cuts and practiced what he called “painting with scissors”.  On day two, students read a folk tale similar to Eric Carl’s ‘Brown bear, brown bear’  and afterward created their own illustration and sentence for this book.
