Rachel's Resurrection

Rachel was born with a very particular genetic make-up that gave her a natural tendency to be big and powerfully built. In her teen years this was a torment that filled her with self-doubt. However, when she came to adulthood, she met two women who would revolutionise her self-image and set her on a path that earned her the name: amazon warrior. She also met the man who had always loved her and together they set out on life’s great and dangerous adventure.
Rachel made enemies in her work for the secret intelligence service known as Detachment 16. Even after she left the service, and moved to Canada, the Islamist cells she had so successfully attacked did not forget her. Rachel found a new career as a professional CrossFit athlete and fitness model. Together with her beloved, Christopher and son Martin, she was settling into a new life in Calgary. Worries about security instigated a move to Port Moody, Vancouver.
The international fame she achieved with her startling success in CrossFit games began to worry her so she decided to retire after the last world championship to be held in Brasilia. She won and attended the prize giving with Chris, Martin, her helper Marta and photographer Kim. Her notoriety had not gone unnoticed by her former enemies and they planned an attack on the prize giving. Rachel had killed two of the three attackers, but the third had detonated a suicide vest he was wearing. Rachel had gotten some distance from him before the detonation but still was severely injured, potentially fatally.
