OPINION BY JUDGE JOSEPH E. BAKER$Tyrone Ragland, Jr. (appellant) appeals from a judgment of the Circuit Court of Fairfax County (trial court) that approved a jury verdict convicting him of first degree murder in violation of Code § 18.2-32. Appellant contends that the trial court erred by (1) admitting into evidence certain statements he made; (2) admitting a "shank" and mask into evidence; (3) admitting into evidence a note he alleges was not authenticated; (4) allowing the Commonwealth to present testimony to the jury he alleges to be false and to impeach its own witness; and (5) denying his motions to strike and set aside the verdict as the evidence was insufficient to support a conviction.
