Mite Kremnitz (4 Jan 1852 – 18 Jul 1916), born Marie von Bardeleben was a German writer. In Romania she befriended the Queen Elisabeth, who was writting poems and short stories. Together they published a number of works and a drama in collaboration using the pennames Ditto and Idem. Starting with 1890 she changed it to Mite Kremnitz.
The Little Purse with Two Half-Pennies is a Romanian fairy tale, collected by Mite Kremnitz. The story follows a bizarre adventure that began with an argument of an elderly couple with their chicken. A truly delightful piece of Slavic folklore, read and you won’t regret a single page!
