ABOUT THE BOOK:


David, son of Jesse, was one of the most amazing men in the Bible.  He killed lions and bears.  He stayed out in the wilderness all by himself looking after his father's sheep.  He was the youngest of seven brothers who didn't like him very much.  To most folks he was just another country kid who would grow up doing just what his family had done for generations before him.  But not this David!  He grew to become an amazing man who had the ability to destroy giants and put enemies of God on the run.  With his gentle hand on his harp, he could quiet the troubled mind of the King.  Some men loved him, others hated him, but God said David was a man after His own heart.  He became the most loved King of all of Israel.  How could an ordinary man like David be someone the Almighty God of the heavens would love so much?  I believe it all began with the wonderful love and guidance given by Jesse, David's dad.  Jesse loved God and implanted that love into the heart of his youngest son.  This story of David weaves a tale that is filled with the adventures of a young man and his father as they share the joys, sorrows, and adventures of life and David becomes rooted in the heart of God.  


ABOUT THE AUTHOR:


Exhausted after spending the afternoon with a bunch of rowdy boys and wondering how in the world she would ever make learning about Jesus exciting for these active young men, Emily Binning was moved by the Lord to write something full of adventure.  Her longing to share the love of her heavenly Father as well as a strong relationship with her earthly father inspired the writing of this book, David, Son of Jesse.  Other books by this author include Gordon Takes a Wife, the love story of Gordon and Emily’s early married life, and Submit . . . to God, based on Gordon’s early teachings.
