Fatal Twist

From New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Karen Rose comes this electrifying entry in the San Diego Case Files.

For seventeen years, Kit McKittrick has been searching for her sister’s killer. The girls were just teenagers when Wren was murdered, her body left in a dumpster like garbage. The horror of that crime made Kit the woman that she is today: a tough, brilliant homicide detective who will stop at nothing to get justice for the victims and their families. For half her life she’s been consumed by getting that justice for Wren. . .until she met police psychologist Sam Reeves and learned she didn’t have to go it alone.

Together they’ve found a new lead. There’s a connection between Wren’s death and a ring of child thieves groomed to pick pockets and steal valuable jewelry, just like the gang in Oliver Twist. But in this case, when the children get too old to be cute and above suspicion, their monstrous leader sells them--or kills them. As Kit’s investigation edges closer, this psychopathic Fagin begins eliminating anyone who threatens his freedom . . . and Kit is his ultimate target!
